Pot up ice plants in sharply drained, gritty compost and grow them on in frost free conditions. When they are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before transplanting into their final positions. Delosperma thrives in poor sandy, sharply drained soil, in a sunny, sheltered position. Add plenty of sharp grit to the soil prior to planting in order to improve drainage and prevent the roots from rotting.
Delosperma requires little maintenance. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings and feed every 3 weeks whilst in active growth.

These plants were amazing when I got them last year, giving a really good display and I was looking forward to seeing them again this year. However to date they appear dead (I even have bedding dahlia's coming back) which shows how mild it has been - very disappointing for a hardy plant, are you sure you didn't send bedding plants!

These have been everything I hoped for. Tiny on arrival so potted them up for a while, put them on a sunny bank in June and they were growing and flowering within weeks. I can see they will spread well which is what I was looking for.
Would post a photo but that doesn't seem to be an option on here.
