Pot up dianthus plants into pots of free-draining compost, and grow dianthus on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When all risk of frost has passed and plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant dianthus outdoors in moist, well drained soil that has been enriched with plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost. Choose a position in full sun.
Feed and water regularly until dianthus plants are fully established. Deadhead faded dianthus flowers frequently to encourage more blooms to be produced.

I purchased this mixed dianthus, and this plant has flowered ''it's socks off''. What a great mixture of colours and all with a beautiful perfume. This plant has often gone out of fashion, but my garden is enriched with this lovely plant. I have been able to fill lot's of vases with the flowers and still had a great display left in the garden. So pleased with this dianthus I will be purchasing more this year. Give it a try, you won't regret it.
