- Our best-seller just got better!
It's not that we weren't satisfied with the success of our best-seller, Begonia 'Apricot Shades', but we decided to try hand-blending an 'improved' version. You can expect a broader range of colours and 50% more colour-edged picotees from Begonia 'Apricot Shades Improved' - which means you'll enjoy even more non-stop stunning colour and impact in your garden.
Begonia 'Apricot Shades Improved' is as versatile as it is beautiful! Large, cascading, double blooms will pour from your containers from July to October. You'll be enjoying gorgeous flowers in shades of apricot and orange that reach 6-10cm (2.5-4") in diameter all summer and well into autumn. These tuberous begonias will perform whatever the weather and can be placed in sunny or semi shaded positions. The abundant trailing habit of Begonia Apricot Shades Improved makes them a great value plant for hanging baskets, window boxes and Flower Pouches™, giving you a really impressive display that will light up even a shady corner.
Our garden ready plants are selected for garden performance, straight from the nursery. We send them to you 'green' ahead of flowering (but please note some varieties may show a few blooms), which means plants will establish quickly and all their energy goes into producing better roots, so they produce more flowers throughout the season.
Culinary note: Add the bright coloured petals to sandwiches or salads for a light lemon taste and crisp texture. For more details about edible flowers click here.
- Ideal For:
- Flowering Period:
- July, August, September, October
- sun or semi shade, dappled shade
When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise garden-ready Begonia plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days before transplanting into their final positions in baskets, window boxes and patio containers. Plant Begonias in a sunny or semi-shaded position that is protected from strong winds.
Feed and water begonia plants frequently throughout the growing season taking care not to over-water, as this will cause new begonia flower buds to drop. Deadhead the single female begonia flowers to encourage more of the large double male flowers to be produced and to extend the flowering period.
