Pot up rudbeckia plants and grow them on in frost free conditions for transplanting outdoors later on. When plants are well-grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before planting them outdoors in sun or partial shade. Rudbeckia enjoys a fertile, preferably heavy soil that is rich in organic matter and well drained. Coneflowers resent drought and dislike soils that dry out in summer.
Feed and water rudbeckia plants regularly. Deadhead faded rudbeckia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced.

  1. shame so many arrived dead!

    By Hilary Steer 22-05-2016

I received my 12 rudbeckia plug plants on Saturday, unfortunately 4 or 5 arrived dead and the rest are not looking too good. Not sure if any will make it to maturity which is a real shame!

  2. Fab

    By Steven James 31-03-2016

I grew these Rudbeckia hirta "Cherry Brandy" back in 2012 and I have to say they were FAB!!!! they came into flower from July all the way to 1st frost. They are excellent for filling in the borders and as cut flowers for the home last well over 2 weeks.
