Pot up marigold plants and grow them on in warm frost-free conditions. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise marigolds to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days and transplant them into their final positions in containers and borders. Plant marigolds in well drained soil in full sun. When growing marigolds pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage branching and form a bushier plant which will produce more flowers later on.
Feed and water marigold plants regularly, particularly during hot, dry periods. Regular deadheading of marigold flowers will encourage further blooms to be produced throughout the summer. Culinary note: Marigold flowers have a mild citrus flavour. Use them in sandwiches, salads, fish dishes and hot desserts.

Reviews
  1. Disappointed

    By Sue Clapton 10-07-2016

I thought I'd try these, but they have performed very badly as far. They really don't seem to like the wet we have had this year. Growth is very poor and I don't think much to the colour.

  2. Ruby Red!

    By Robert Webster 12-06-2016

Nothing like the colour on the photo, deep / ruby red which doesnt stand out too much from the foliage as they are both deep shades green / ruby.
