Hardy Tree

A stunning mass of pure white flowers start the spring off in a dramatic way when Wild Cherries are planted in your hedgerows. Finally an autumn display of reds, golds and yellows will bring a final flourish of colour in the autumn just before the leaves begin to fall. Plant Wild Cherry in any moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Incorporate plenty of compost or well-rotted manure prior to planting. Ideally grown in full sun.
Water regularly until fully established. Blackthorn require little aftercare. Simply remove any diseased, damaged or crossing shoots to maintain a healthy framework. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost around the base of the plants in spring, taking care not to mound mulch up against the stems.
