This English Yew is a medium-sized bushy evergreen tree with narrow, leathery, very dark green leaves. Male plants produce yellow cones in spring and female plants produce red cup-shaped non edible autumn fruits. Tolerant to dry soils and a good all round tough plant. They are ideal for growing as a formal hedge as the tolerate regular clipping and can be shaped into topiary very easily.. Unsurprisingly, Taxus baccata has been awarded a prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit Supplied as 30 - 45cm bareroots (12 - 18") Height: 12m (39'). Spread: 8m (26'). Planting Distance: 30 - 45 cm (12" - 18"). (4 plants per metre for a single line hedge).

Grow Yew trees in any well drained, fertile soil. Taxus is versatile and will happily grow on acid or alkaline soils. It will grow thrive in almost any position from full sun to deep shade.
Feed and water regularly until yew trees are fully established. Yew may be left unpruned to form a handsome tree, or pruned in summer and early autumn to create a dense, evergreen hedge.
