Honeyberries reach high prices in the supermarkets - far better to grow your own! Lonicera caerulea var. kamtschatica 'Wojtek' is a Polish cultivar. The creamy yellow flowers appear in spring with a delicate sweet fragrance. By early summer a delicious crop of large, oval shaped, blue berries will begin to form. Eat them fresh from the plant as they ripen, or use bumper crops in pies, jams and cakes for a taste sensation. This deciduous, rounded shrub is exceptionally hardy and makes an attractive and useful addition to the kitchen garden and ornamental borders alike. Honeyberries are self fertile but planting them in close proximity to one another will improve pollination and increase your crop of tasty fruits. Height and spread: 1.5m (5').
Caution: It should be noted that not all berries of the Lonicera family are edible.
