 Customer Rating
Often flowering twice a year, Magnolia 'Red Lucky' makes a superb specimen plant. The white petals, flushed on the outside with deep pink markings, appear in spring and again in late summer. This exceptional deciduous magnolia requires little maintenance making it ideal for the back of a large border or woodland garden. Height and spread: 6m (20').

Ideal For:
patio, low maintenance garden, specimen plant, woodland garden
Flowering Period:
April, May, August
sun or semi shade
    • 1 bare root magnolia plant

    • Despatch: By end of February 2016
    • £15.99
Plant magnolias in a sunny or semi shaded position with protection from cold winds and hard spring frosts. Magnolias prefer a rich, moist, well drained, acid to neutral soil. Incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to improve the soil prior to planting, mixing it thoroughly and deeply. Magnolia plants establish quicker when their roots are shaded. Following planting, apply a mulch of rotted bark chips, manure or garden compost, taking care not to mound it around the stem of the plant.
Water regularly throughout the growing season until young magnolias are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted bark chips or garden compost to the base of the plant. Magnolias require little pruning other than to maintain their shape and remove damaged stems or crossing stems.

Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes etc are delivered at the appropriate time for planting and will be stated on the product page or in your order acknowledgement page and email.
