Plant Gardenia 'Kleim's Hardy' in sheltered borders or containers in any well drained, rich fertile, neutral to acid soil. Choose a sheltered position in dappled or semi shade. Water regularly until gardenia plants are fully established. Where possible, use rainwater as the lime contained in tap water will reduce the soils acidity over time.
Feed hardy gardenia plants regularly throughout the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Whilst this variety of gardenia is perfectly hardy, it will appreciate some winter protection during particularly cold periods. In very cold climates, container-grown plants may be moved to a cool, frost-free position for the winter. In spring, lightly prune stems to maintain their shape.

Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes etc are delivered at the appropriate time for planting and will be stated on the product page or in your order acknowledgement page and email.

  1. Really pleased with my little gardenias

    By Penny Jaquet 31-08-2016

Arrived some weeks ago and have grown really well with lots of lighter green leaves. They are (I bought four!) and one little plant to my surprise has produced a bud which opened into a lovely flower which smelt divine. As they say so far so good, but they are lovely and healthy and I have great hopes for next year.

Thank you very much for your review. I am glad that you have been happy with your purchase and thank you so much for taking the time to let us know. I hope we can continue to be of service to you in the future.

  2. Very disappointing

    By Ann Cochrane 22-08-2015

I bought this plant in June 2014 and expected to have a wonderful display of fragrant flowers. I followed the instructions that came with it and I have it in a pot in a sheltered position, yet it has not grown much and there has not ever been a hint of a flower - what's the reason for such poor performance etc?
