Cactus 'Special Mix'

All sorts of easy to grow cacti all of which are ideally suited to window-sills, sun rooms or greenhouse. Height 10-60cm (4-24in). Flowering most times of year. Packets should contain: Carnegia gigantes, Ferocactus aconthodes, Ferocactus wislenzii. Lemairocereus thurberi. Opuntis phaecantha, Opuntis chtorotica, Pachycereus pringlii, Cylindropuntia Imbricata.

Sow from mid winter to late summer in a free draining compost, just covering the seed with silver sand. Seal in a polythene bag or cover with glass until germination which can take from 2-12 weeks. As this is a mixture, different types will germinate at different times. They will all germinate at 21 -24C (70-75P) but for most rapid results we recommend gradually raising the temperature over a period of 2 weeks from 14C (57P) to 30C (86F), when the large green seed leaf has been observed.

Prick out into 6cm (2in) pots, then 8cm (3in) and 15cm (6in) pots as required, and water carefully until established.

Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes etc are delivered at the appropriate time for planting and will be stated on the product page or in your order acknowledgement page and email.


Orders for packets of seed incur a P&P charge of £1.95.
Orders which include any other products will incur a P&P charge of £4.95.
Where an order includes both packets of seeds and other products a maximum P&P charge of £6.90 will apply - regardless of the number of items ordered.

    These packs of 80 seeds are widely sown in tourist desert areas - they are all varieties collected from the wild at about !kg per per plant ... mostly huge wweds ... not one of them even remotely suitale to be raised as plants... Carnegie gigantes, giant garden cactus of California Ferocactus aconthodes, slowly forms 2m column Ferocactus wislenzii, Arizona barrel cactus, huge Lemairocereus thurberi, Mexican Organ Pipe cactus Opuntis phaecantha, common weed prickly pear Opuntis chlorotica, bushy prickly pear Pachycereus pringlei, Mexican giant elephant cactus Cylindropuntia Imbricata. Giant walking stick cactus.
