If you're looking for something a bit more colourful or to add extra impact to your garden, you need not look any further. Berberis thunbergii 'Cabernet' provides crimson new growth which develops into rich burgundy-red, glossy foliage, later turning fiery red-orange in autumn. Attractive flowers of yellow form in spring, along with showy red fruits soon after the leaves have fallen, which are much loved by birds. Height & Spread: 90cm (36").

Plant Berberis in full sun or partial shade, on a reliably moist, well-drained soil. Barberry plants are extremely resilient and will grow on many different soil types, except waterlogged.
