Competitions

If you are proud of your plants and would like to show us what you have accomplished, Thompson & Morgan runs competitions throughout the year. We've added some new categories this year and competitions are open to everyone, so whether you have a single hanging basket outside your front door, a couple of tubs on your balcony or acres of formal gardens you could win some fantastic prizes, as well as seeing your photos on our website or even in one of our catalogues. You can enter as many competitions as you like.

Your beds and borders

Feeling proud of your beds and borders? Want them shown off to more than just your neighbours? Well, we at Thompson & Morgan would love to see your pictures! See below for competition entry details.

Vegetables and Fruit

A new category for 2012, the 'Vegetables and Fruit' photo competition gives you the chance to show off your kitchen garden, whether you've got a large vegetable plot or grow in containers on the patio. See below for competition entry details.

Baskets and hanging containers of any Thompson & Morgan product

We're running a competition to find the best image of a baskets and containers. The winner will recieve £250 in Thompson & Morgan vouchers and £10 for each runner-up if images are used in our catalogues or website. See below for competition entry details.

Plant Portrait of any Thompson & Morgan product

Send in your plant portraits of Thompson & Morgan plants that you've grown and show off your photography skills. See below for competition entry details.

The prizes

The winner for each category will receive £250 in Thompson & Morgan vouchers.

We will also select an unlimited number of runners-up, who will each receive £10 in Thompson & Morgan vouchers.

Preparing your entry

We will only accept entries in digital format for this competition.

Tips for taking great photos

• - Keep any backgrounds simple and uncluttered
• - Choose a perfect bloom when shooting close-ups
• - Do not shoot into the sun or during bright sunshine
• - Take some vertical pictures, not always horizontal
• - Think differently, experiment...

In the subject line of your email: The category you are entering
In the filename of your image: Your name and town
In your email: Your full name, address and telephone number
You may send up to 5 images per category.

Closing date 28th September 2012

Winners and runners-up will be notified by 2nd November 2012

Use of images

Please note, all images submitted for entry in to the competition and chosen as either competition winners or runners-up will become, by default, the copyright of Thompson & Morgan and its Group of companies. We will use your image for the foreseeable future in any marketing literature, be it online or in paper format.
