Weigela are popular deciduous shrubs for their reliable, free-flowering display in early summer. We’ve brought together 3 outstanding varieties, including the recently introduced cultivar ‘Mango’, to bring you a wealth of colour and interest. These versatile shrubs are well-behaved and easy to grow, needing little attention throughout the year. Their nectar rich flowers are loved by pollinating insects. A great choice for sunny borders, cottage garden planting schemes and wildlife gardens.

  • Weigela Summer Trio comprises:
  • Weigela All Summer Red 'Slingco 1' - Lush red, funnel-shaped flowers start appearing from mid-spring, intensifying through to mid-autumn. Height & Spread: 75cm (30").
  • From late spring, the soft pink flowers complement the variegated foliage which is edged in pink and cream. Height and spread: 60cm (24").
  • Weigela middendorffiana 'Mango' - Funnel-shaped, pale yellow blooms are borne above the foliage, each with a dark orange throat. Height and spread: 1m (39").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Grow Weigela in a sunny or semi shaded position, in any well drained soil. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Weigela at the same depth as they were planted in their pots. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil.
More Info
Water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Weigela requires little pruning. After flowering cut back stems to a healthy bud and remove a fifth of the old stems to ground level.
