Description
The first ever F1 Hybrid Wallflower! Attractive dwarf, bushy uniform plants with hybrid vigour makes Sunset Mixed perfect for adding to autumn containers. A colourful range of flowers appear in early spring, filling the air with their delightful Wallflower fragrance. Versatile and undemanding, this short lived perennial tends to be grown as a biennial, and is tough enough to cope in even the poorest of soils. Height: 25-30cm (10-12in).

Culinary note: The tender young shoots can be cooked and eaten as a vegetable. For more details about edible flowers click here.

1 packet (20 wallflower seeds) (32097)

Sowing
Sow May to June. Sow in pots or module trays of moist seed compost and cover with a very light sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Seal container inside a polythene bag and keep at a temperature of between 10-15C (50-59F), or place in a coldframe or sheltered position outdoors. After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Germination will usually take 7 to 14 days.

When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings, if required, into 7.5cm (3 inch) pots or trays. Grow on in cool, well-lit conditions before planting out during September-October, 30cm (12 inches) apart, or transplant into containers.
