Description
Try something a little different in your patio pots! American bred, Vinca ‘Tattoo Series’ should not be mistake for the rampant ground cover plant by the same name – these neat, bushy plants are refined, colourful and quite unique. Rounded, open blooms smother the plants in summer, standing out beautifully from the glossy evergreen foliage. These tender perennials are best grown as annuals in the UK, making a fabulous statement in patio pots in an exotic mix of orange and pink shades. Height: 45cm (18"). Spread: 30cm (12").

How to Grow
Pot up Catharanthus plants and grow them on in warm frost free conditions until all risk of frost has past. Use a free draining soil mix as Catharanthus resents poor drainage. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions before placing in their final positions outside. Choose a sheltered position in full sun.
More Info
Feed and water Catharanthus plants regularly throughout summer. Although perennial, these plants require a minimum temperature of 5C (41F), and are therefore best grown as annuals in the UK. However they may be overwintered in a heated greenhouse or conservatory. Reduce watering in winter, keeping the compost barely moist.
