Description
Veronica 'Candles Duo' produce an endless supply of upright flower spikes in blue and white. With a spreading habit they will quickly form a dense mat of toothed, mid green foliage that makes superb groundcover. These low growing perennials make a lovely feature at the front of a well drained border, where they will spill over to soften edges and add a splash of summer colour. Height: 20cm (10"). Spread: 30cm (12").
  • Duo comprises:
  • Veronica spicata 'Royal Candles' - Upright flower spikes of indigo blue.
  • Veronica spicata ‘Snow Candles’ - Slender white blooms.

How to Grow
Pot up Veronica plants and grow them on in warm, frost-free conditions until plants are well grown. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions over 7-10 days before planting out in their final positions. Choose a sunny or semi-shaded position in moist, fertile, well drained soil. Veronica prefers a fertile, humus rich soil so work some well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting.
More Info
Deadhead faded veronica flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. In autumn, cut back old foliage and apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant.
