Unlike many of today’s modern cultivars, this botanical variety that will happily make itself at home in your garden, returninng year after year! Tulip bakeri 'Lilac Wonder' looks distinctly different to the average variety, in fact once open, the starry blooms barely look like Tulips at all! With soft hues of lilac-pink and contrasting bright gold centres, the flowers will brighten up borders no end, slowly multiplying as the years pass to create natural groups. Despite its exotic looks ‘Lilac Wonder’ is trouble free and easy to grow. Height: 25cm (10"). Spread:10cm (4").

Plant tulip bulbs in late summer or autumn. Tulips will grow well in any moist, well drained soil, except for particularly wet soils. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds. When planting tulip bulbs avoid shallow planting as this may reduce the winter cold period that is essential for tulip bulbs to produce flowers in spring. Plant them at a depth of 15cm (6") and at a distance of 13cm (5") apart.
More Info After flowering, deadhead the faded tulip flowers and allow the foliage to die back completely before removing it in summer. Caution: Tulip bulbs are an irritant to skin and eyes, and are harmful if eaten.
