Description How to Grow More Info Delivery Reviews

Beautiful silken yellow petals fade to their creamy white edges and form these exquisitely scented blooms. Tree lilies® are the breathtaking result of years of painstaking breeding; these incredible varieties of oriental lily can grow as tall as 2.5m (8ft) in as little as two years. One single bulb of Tree Lily® 'Yellow Rocket' can produce up to thirty 20cm (8") trumpet blooms and will take on a shrub-like appearance over the years.

The sturdy stalks are almost 5cm (2") thick, so they won't need supporting and the foliage remains lush all season. It couldn't be easier. Grow them through shrubs in borders, against walls and fences, or in large pots for the patio, and let them look after themselves. Height: 2.5m (8'). Spread: 60cm (24").

Flowering Months
Feed and water Oriental lily bulbs regularly throughout the growing season, keeping them moist at all times. Deadhead faded blooms at the base of the flower where they join the stem to prevent the development of seed pods. When cutting Oriental lily flowers for indoor arrangements, it is important to leave a third of the stem intact in order to feed the bulb for the following year. After flowering leave the stems intact until they begin to yellow in autumn. Reduce watering and move containers of lilies to a cool, frost free position over winter. Lilies grown in borders can be lifted, cleaned and stored for the winter, however in mild areas most lilies should survive outdoors provided that the soil is not too wet. A mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost should be applied in spring. Divide and repot container grown lilies into fresh compost every other year. Caution: All parts of Oriental lilies are toxic to cats.
Oriental lilies prefer a moist, free draining, neutral to acid soil that is rich in organic matter. Prior to planting, add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil to give your tree lilies® the best start. When growing lilies in containers, use a loam based compost such as John Innes No.2. Lily bulbs should be planted at a depth of approximately 3 times their own height and 15cm (6") apart. Planting deeply helps to protect the bulb during particularly hot periods. Choose a sheltered, sunny position where lilies will grow with their heads in the sun and their roots in the shade.

Lillies in the Pink, Yellow & White 2015-08-25

Bought these in early March. Planted the bulbs as soon as possible, in pots for the first year. Absolutely amazing! Currently (late August) they stand at about 4 ft tall with at least a dozen flower heads, with very strong perfume in the evening. Flowers are between 6 and 8 inches across!! Brilliant considering they are in pots.

Amazing Tree Lily 2014-07-20

My Tree Lily is amazing this year. It is 8 feet tall and has 13 flower heads which smell beautiful in the evening. I have had it for 5 years and each year it gets bigger and better. I planted it and just left it to grow. Kaye Stott, Great Yarmouht

Sunshine through the Rain 2011-09-17

I am very fond of lilies, in all varieties. This is the first year I have grown a "lily tree" and the results are very pleasing. I bought a mixed batch of three and when the other lilies in my garden had finished the tree's came into flower. I have to say from the three colours chosen this soft delicate yellow flower is my favourite. In it's first year five very large perfect flower heads stand out in the mixed bed. They have all grown extremely well in an area that has a limited season and through a very wet summer. The tallest plant standing at nearly five foot. I would highly recommend these bulbs, in particular this delicately scented, delicately coloured flower.
