Flowering Months
Feed and water Oriental lily bulbs regularly throughout the growing season, keeping them moist at all times. Deadhead faded blooms at the base of the flower where they join the stem to prevent the development of seed pods. When cutting Oriental lily flowers for indoor arrangements, it is important to leave a third of the stem intact in order to feed the bulb for the following year. After flowering leave the stems intact until they begin to yellow in autumn. Reduce watering and move containers of lilies to a cool, frost free position over winter. Lilies grown in borders can be lifted, cleaned and stored for the winter, however in mild areas most lilies should survive outdoors provided that the soil is not too wet. A mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost should be applied in spring. Divide and repot container grown lilies into fresh compost every other year. Caution: All parts of Oriental lilies are toxic to cats.
Oriental lilies prefer a moist, free draining, neutral to acid soil that is rich in organic matter. Prior to planting, add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil to give your tree lilies® the best start. When growing lilies in containers, use a loam based compost such as John Innes No.2. Lily bulbs should be planted at a depth of approximately 3 times their own height and 15cm (6") apart. Planting deeply helps to protect the bulb during particularly hot periods. Choose a sheltered, sunny position where lilies will grow with their heads in the sun and their roots in the shade.

Great customer service. 2016-09-11

A substantial part of the order failed to come up but the excellent customer support has almost entirely made up for all that extra digging! I have read some reviews saying that the tree lilies are much smaller than expected. I have some beautiful tree lilies in my garden from about 6 years ago. These too started very small then over the course of 3 years came to full height with the most magnificent flowers. Don't lose heart they will get bigger with time, they are well worth the wait. I'd like to give then 4 and a half stars as the problems were well resolved. Will order from T&M again.

Great Start 2012-04-29

I bought these along with the other tree lily collection in February 2012, planted them in March and all bulbs have come up and some are already 3 ft tall. I can't wait until the summer. Mix them with other lily specimens and other tall plants I have mine mixed with delphinium to support each other

Amazing! 2011-08-28

These tree lilies are something special, wonderful scent that filled my whole house with perfume for at least 7 days, sadly I cut them due to the winds. Going to buy some for my mum as they are very special just like her. I love lilies and have many different types in the garden these are amongst my favorites.

Heady Scent 2011-07-27

The lilies are now in full bloom with 5 or 6 flowers per per stem and the scent is amazing, the petals are clear of any blemishes.

Planted in large pots they are now 5ft tall, I have staked them but don't really need it as very strong stems, flowers waiting to open. Disease and pest free. Under planted with Coleus to shade roots. Very impressed and easy to grow.

Tree Lilies 2011-06-07

Beautiful lilies now 5ft tall with up to nine flowers now open on each stem. Love them so much I have bought more bulbs. These are now about 12 inches tall. All strong and healthy.Looking forward to your open weekend.

Fabulous Lilly tree 2011-05-06

The Crystal Lilly tree collection is wonderful. I have strong healthy plants that are 5ft already in their first year. Buds are all there ready to flower ( 6 on every plant ) i can't wait for them to flower.

What a gem. 2011-03-11

Bought tree lillies a few years ago and I am still amazed with them. Those pesky lilly beetles find the leaves too tough so there are very few holes in the leaves. Be careful where you site them. I had three in a tub under an open window of our conservatory, the scent was on occasions very overpowering. (Tip) Give them a dose of chicken poo, dug in around the shoot when it first shows, they love it
