Basket/ Container.
From the same breeding programme as 'Losetto', Tomato 'Romello' shows equally high tolerance to blight. This superb bush variety produces long clusters of deliciously sweet, plum-shaped cherry tomatoes. The tasty fruits show good resistance to cracking and grow towards the outside of the plant for a particularly easy harvest. Perfect for growing in baskets and containers on the patio. Height and spread: 30cm (12").

Companion planting: Try growing tomatoes with French marigolds to deter whitefly, and basil, chives or mint to deter aphids and other pests.

Water tomato plants frequently, to keep the compost evenly moist. Feed tomatoes regularly with a high potash plant food once the first fruits have formed. Tomatoes can be harvested as they ripen from July to September. Dwarf bush varieties do not require staking or side shooting.
Plant tomato plugs directly into hanging baskets using good quality compost, and grow them on in warm frost free conditions until they are fully rooted in. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days before placing the hanging baskets in their final positions in full sun, with shelter from strong winds.
