Description

When it comes to house plants, they don’t come much easier and more stylish than Tillandsia (Air Plants). Tillandsia are rainforest plants and naturally cling to the branches of trees, gathering the moisture and nutrient they need from the air around them. Spiky tufts of foliage look good all year round, in summer they’re topped with a bright-coloured bloom too. These tropical plants need very little intervention in order to thrive - plenty of light and a little moisture in the air is normally sufficient to keep them healthy, they don’t need to be potted in soil. Tillandsia will be happiest in rooms with plenty of light and higher humid levels, such as kitchens and bathrooms. Enjoy them in a glass vase or terrarium with pebbles, or create a natural looking display by pushing them into driftwood.

Please note: Some houseplants are toxic or harmful to pets if ingested. If you believe your pet has consumed a poisonous plant then seek veterinary attention immediately. Take a sample of the plant with you.

1 x medium airplant (KB3489)

How to Grow
These Tillandsia are epiphytic plants which do not require compost to grow. They can be wired or glued onto a suitable support such as wood or an attractive shell. Position airplants in bright, filtered light with good air circulation, at a minimum temperature of 5C (41F).
More Info
Water frequently from spring to autumn by immersing the entire plant in rainwater or misting thoroughly. Allow the plant to completely drain and dry after each watering. Feed monthly by adding a small amount of bromeliad fertiliser to misting water.
