Spiraea x vanhouttei has a slightly more spreading habit than other varieties, making this handsome hardy, deciduous shrub a perfect choice for planting on banks or slopes where nothing much else will grow, but is also a useful addition in any formal/informal border. White flowers in summer complement the almost golden yellow-green foliage. Height & Spread: 1.5m (5').

How to Grow

Grow Spiraea in a sunny position, in any fertile, moist, well-drained soil.

For best performance, prune flowered shoots of Spiraea plants immediately after flowering. Mature specimens can be cut back by a quarter of the old shoots to the base.
