Description
How to Grow
This fast growing native produces vertical, narrow, strap-like foliage on tall stems. Throughout summer the spherical, brown flowers are borne along stiffly upright stems, becoming fascinating spiky round fruits later in the season. Sparganium erectum is easily uprooted and prefers still or very slow flowing water. Commonly known as Branched Bur Reed, this hardy semi evergreen perennial is a useful marginal aquatic for natural planting schemes, creating good cover for wildfowl and other wildlife. Height: 150cm (59"). Spread: 200cm (78"). Planting depth: Zones 1 & 2 to 15cm (6") below water level.

Grow Branched Bur Reed in moist,boggy soils or submerged in the shallow margins of ponds with the crown to a maximum depth of up to 15cm (6") below water level. Choose a position in sun or semi shade.
More Info Branched Bur Reed requires virtually no maintenance. Cut back the old stems in autumn to maintain a tidy appearance.
