Description
Perfect in their simplicity, the pure white single flowers of this compact Shasta daisy are produced in constant supply throughout summer. Closely related to the chrysanthemum, Leucanthemum x superbum ‘Silver Princess’ is at its best when planted in drifts for a big impact. This beautiful perennial blends effortlessly with almost any planting scheme, and its brilliant white daisies are excellent for cutting for an elegant display indoors. Height: 45cm (18") Spread: 45cm (18").

3 bare root chrysanthemum plants (KC0867)
1 x 1 litre potted leucanthemum plant (KA5743)

How to Grow
Plant Shasta Daisies in any moist, well drained soil in sunny or semi shaded borders.

These plants are lifted from the nursery field when dormant, and sent to you in late autumn or spring for planting. They often look dead on arrival, but they are just resting in the dormant period and will establish quickly for a strong start in the garden come spring. Set out in prepared soil in holes wide enough and deep enough to lay out the roots. Tread down the planting soil to knock out air pockets. Water well to settle. Apply a mulch to protect roots from cold temperatures. If conditions prevent immediate planting, set roughly into loose soil or a pot of compost (‘heeling in’) to protect the roots. The growth points of most bare root perennials should be set about an inch below the soil surface. New growth will appear in spring.

More Info
Feed and water regularly until plants are established. Deadhead faded leucanthemum flowers throughout summer to promote a constant supply of fresh blooms. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of shasta daisy in spring or late summer, after flowering. Reduce the old stems to ground level in autumn.
