Description How to Grow More Info Delivery Reviews
Spice up your summer patio pots with Salvia 'Hot Lips'. Naturally bushy plants boast eye-catching flower spikes with open-mouthed, bicolour blooms. In particularly hot weather look out for individual flowers in solid red or solid white. The aromatic foliage has a fine blackcurrant fragrance that only adds to its charm. This showy ornamental sage is perfect for cottage garden borders and containers, or incorporated into bedding schemes for a vibrant summer display. Although perennial, this half hardy Salvia will appreciate some protection from winter weather. Height: 90cm (35"). Spread: 60cm (24").

Flowering Months
Feed and water regularly until fully established. Although perennial, Salvia x jamensis 'Hot Lips' will require some winter protection in all but the mildest areas of the UK. When growing Salvia ‘Hot Lips’ in containers, it can be moved to a cold greenhouse or conservatory over the winter months. Prune lightly in late spring when new growth appears to remove dead stems and maintain a bushy habit.
Plant salvias outdoors in moist, well drained soil, and situated in a sheltered spot in full sun.

Eye catching and easy care 2016-05-06

I have had this in my garden for three years now.Lightly clipped around April time it looks very pretty in flower, and many complementary comments have been given. It seems to go on flowering from May right through to September.I am going to investigate how to propagate this delightful plant so I can enjoy it in different areas. At the moment it is planted in a narrow 3 foot border next to a 3 foot wall facing North. I have never given it any winter protection and it has come fine through 3 winters in West Yorkshire.

T&M replied on 2016-06-05: Thank you very much for your review. I am glad that you have been happy with your purchase. I hope we can continue to be of service to you in the future.
