This compact climbing rose makes a superb patio climber. Shapely, scarlet-red double blooms are borne throughout summer against a backdrop of small, glossy green leaves. Rose 'Love Knot' is delicately fragrant and reliably repeat-flowering. The flexible stems are easy to train too - perfect for growing onto obelisks in large patio containers. Height: 200cm (78”). Spread: 150cm (59”).

Companion planting: Try growing roses with garlic, chives, thyme or mint to help deter aphids and blackfly.

How to Grow
Plant roses at the earliest opportunity following delivery. To avoid the risk from the build-up of harmful soil organisms and disease, choose an open position in full sun that has not been planted with roses in recent years. Roses enjoy a rich, fertile, well drained soil. Dig in plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting roses and add a small handful of granular fertiliser to the planting hole. Stems of climbing roses will require training against a suitable support such as a pergola, fence or wall.
More Info
Feed and water rose plants regularly and deadhead faded flowers. When growing roses it is necessary to remove any suckers that arise from the base of the plant, below the graft union. In late summer begin pruning climbing roses by removing dead and diseased wood, and any rubbing or damaged stems. For the first two years the remaining stems should be trained horizontally on wires. From the third year, the main stems can be reduced to maintain the plant within the available growing space. Side shoots should be reduced to 3 buds. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost to the base of the plant after pruning.
