Description
A rose hedging collection that combines beauty with security, without growing beyond control. Our Rose Hedging Collection brings together five different rosa varieties that, if allowed to intertwine, will create an extremely prickly hedgerow that will be covered in blooms all through the summer months and then in late autumn it will also give a fine showing of different bright red and orange fruits that are not only useful to us humans but are also enjoyed by wildlife too. Four of the varieties will only grow to approximately 5ft tall (150cm), with the dog rose capable of growing taller with support. The plants in this collection are: Burnet Rose, Dog Rose, Red Leaf Rose, Ramanas Rose and White Ramanas Rose. Supplied as 50 - 90cm bareroots (20 - 35") Height: 400cm (157"). Spread: 250cm (98"). Planting Distance: 45cm (18"). (3 plants per metre for a single line hedge).

Culinary note: Some parts of these flowers are edible. Rosehips and petals can be used in making syrups and the petals will add flavour to cold drinks or fruit dishes. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Companion planting: Try growing roses with garlic, chives, thyme or mint to help deter aphids and blackfly.
