A complete and stylish houseplant arrangement
Includes tray, three glazed, potted plants and one bird ornament
The perfect gift or instant table display for you home/office
Pretty in pink, this charming set makes the ideal romantic gift for that special someone. The arrangement showcases a soft pink Phalaenopsis orchid complemented by the cool, silvery-green tones of two succulents. A jaunty toucan surmounting a perch and a pair of wise owls make up the cast of whimsical creatures. The set is neatly displayed on a braided tray making the perfect ornament for a shelf, windowsill or side table. The Phalaenopsis is one of the easiest orchids to grow, with 3 to 4 sprays of elegant white flowers which last for several weeks. The succulents are equally undemanding plants, making this a long-lasting gift that keeps looking beautiful long after bouquets have faded.

Phalaenopsis Orchid
Phalaenopsis require a consistently warm position with a constant temperature above 16C (61F). Choose a brightly lit position away from draughts and radiators, avoiding the direct glare of the sun.
Water regularly during the growing season, allowing the soil to dry out at the surface between each watering. Use tepid rainwater where possible, and let the pot drain well afterwards. Avoid leaving in standing water as this will cause the plant to rot. Water lightly about once a week. Apply water from above, avoid getting water on the leaves or in the crown. Reduce watering during the winter. Feed regularly with orchid fertiliser between March and September when in active growth.
Succulents
Grow in full light with some shelter from the hottest sun. An average temperature of 10- 23C (50-75F) is ideal. Water Crassula whenever necessary, allowing the compost to dry out between waterings. These fleshy-leaved succulents store water in their leaves so they use surpisingly little water throughout the hot summer months. Feed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth. Reduce watering in winter.
Phalaenopsis Orchid
After flowering, cut back the old stalk to just above the second node. This will encourage the production of a new flowering side-shoot. In autumn, move to a cooler position to allow new buds to form. Reduce watering during this period and allow the compost to dry out slightly between waterings. Once the buds have formed, the plant may be returned to its original growing position and watering increased. Repot every two years using bark-based orchid compost.
