Description
The Red Oak makes a majestic landscape tree! Smooth grey bark, deeply lobed leaves and dark brown acorns provide plenty of seasonal interest. The foliage of Quercus rubra is particularly striking with each leaf growing up to 22cm in length, turning a dazzling scarlet red in autumn. The Red Oak is a familiar sight in parks and open spaces, making a superb, and surprisingly fast growing, deciduous tree. Height and spread: 20m (65’).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

5 x 9cm potted plant (KB5719)

How to Grow
Plant Red Oak into any moist, but well-drained non-alkaline soil in full sun or dappled shade. Can be grown as hedging, or as a stand-alone tree, but plant out with an awareness of the final size of the tree.
More Info
Oak trees require very little maintenance. Water young plants during particularly dry periods until fully established.
