Cheer up your garden and say 'goodbye' to the winter blues with Primrose 'Belarina Nectarine'. From spring through to early summer enjoy vibrant yellow ruffled petals, that fade to a delicate pink picotee edging alongside evergreen rosettes of foliage. With exceptional hardiness, down to -25C (13F), these incredible perennials will come back year after year, no matter how cold the winter is! Like miniature roses, these fragrant double-flowered primroses look fabulous wherever you plant them, in pots, containers, beds or baskets, in sun or semi shade - and unlike other primroses they won't need dead-heading! Height: 15cm (6"). Spread: 20cm (8").

Culinary note: Some parts of these flowers are edible. Try the sweet tasting petals on top of salads or even pancakes, crystallise them for use as cake decorations too. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Flowering Months
During the winter, avoid over-watering container grown plants as this may cause the plants to rot in cold conditions. Deadhead faded primrose flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Divide over-crowded clumps of primroses from late autumn to early spring.
Pot up plug plants and grow them on in bright, frost-free conditions, watering sparingly until they are fully rooted in. When they are well grown, acclimatise primrose plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days, prior to planting out in their final positions in beds, borders and containers. Choose a position in full sun or semi shade on any fertile, moist, well drained soil.
