Don’t let the tropical tones fool you – this compact, semi-evergreen bedding plant is as hardy as any other Primula. Fill beds, borders and containers with these beauties in autumn, and by March your garden will be awash with their gentle tones and light perfume. How to Grow
Acclimatise primrose plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days, prior to planting out in their final positions in beds, borders and containers. Choose a position in full sun or semi shade on any fertile, moist, well drained soil.
More Info
During the winter, avoid over-watering container grown plants as this may cause the plants to rot in cold conditions. Deadhead faded primrose flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Divide over-crowded clumps of primroses from late autumn to early spring.
