Description

Impressive tubular coral orange blooms adorn the upright stems of this eye-catching Cape Fuchsia from summer into autumn. Despite their South African, exotic origins, Phygelius are generally hardy in mild parts of the UK and will establish well in mixed herbaceous borders or as a patio plant. In mild parts of the UK, Phygelius 'Pheeges Festive Orange' may be grown as a semi-evergreen shrub if winter protection is provided. Height and Spread: 60cm (24").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

1 x 2 litre potted phygelius plant (57872)

How to Grow
Grow Cape Fuchsias in patio containers or borders, in any moist, well drained soil. Position in a sunny or semi shaded site which is protected from cold winds over winter.
More Info
Feed and water regularly until plants are fully established. Phygelius plants grown in the border will benefit from winter protection such as an autumn mulch of chipped bark or leaf mould. Container-grown plants can be moved to a frost free position over winter. Cut back old stems at the base of the plant in spring to promote the development of new growth. In very mild areas where the stems are not damaged by cold winters, Phygelius may be grown as a semi-evergreen shrub, requiring only light pruning of the stems in spring to improve the shape of the plant.
