Description

A handsome house plant that cuts a dashing profile! Its large, leathery leaves have a glossy sheen that reflects the light and draws the eye. The foliage emerges dark red and gradually deepens through mahogany shades to a dark bronze-green. Philodendron 'Imperial Red' enjoys a lightly shaded spot, away from the scorch of hot, direct sun. Known for its toxin-busting, air purifying abilities, this splendid foliage plant is ideal for a warm, lightly shaded position in your home or office space. Height and spread: 120cm (48").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Please note: Some houseplants are toxic or harmful to pets if ingested. If you believe your pet has consumed a poisonous plant then seek veterinary attention immediately. Take a sample of the plant with you.

How to Grow
Philodendron is an adaptable plant, growing happily in average room temperatures of 18C (65F) - 24C (75F). Do not allow temperatures to fall below 12C (55F). A bright to lightly shaded position, well away from direct sunlight is ideal. Avoid positioning this plant close to cold draughts and radiators.
More Info
Water Philodendrons regularly to maintain evenly moist compost. House plants should be fed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth. Philodendron appreciates a humid atmosphere - stand it on a tray filled with pebbles and water. As the water evaporates it will increase humidity around the plant. Misting the foliage daily with a fine spray will also help to improve humidity.
