Description
Peony 'Sonoma Blessing' boasts all the glamour that we have come to expect from an Itoh Peony. This intersectional hybrid bears cup-shaped, semi-double blooms, which are streaked and patterned with raspberry pink. The finely cut foliage makes an attractive backdrop for its early summer display and adds texture to sunny borders. These long-lived perennials are compact and well-behaved, needing minimal maintenance once established. Height and spread: 75cm (29").

1 x 4 litre potted peony plant (KC0609)

How to Grow
Grow peonies in a sunny or semi shaded position. They prefer a well drained, rich fertile soil. This is best achieved by adding with plenty of well rotted manure or compost to the soil prior to planting, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply. Plant herbaceous peonies at a depth of around 5cm (2") below the soil surface. Planting too deeply may delay flowering.
More Info
Water regularly until peony plants are fully established. Thereafter, herbaceous peonies require little maintenance and will grow happily for many years if left undisturbed. However, they will appreciate a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost applied around the base of the plant in spring. Plants may take several years to establish before they produce their spectacular peony flowers.
