Description
Rustic shades create a fiery, smokey display, perfect for warming autumn planting schemes. These hardy bedding plants carry on to flower in spring, making a great companion to tulips, daffodils and other spring bulbs. Creates a classic display when mixed with small hardy evergreen shrubs in containers and window boxes. Height and spread 25cm (10in).

Sowing
Sow January to March. Sow seed in pots on the surface of the sowing mix. Lightly cover seed with vermiculite. Place pots in a propagator or seal inside a polythene bag and place at 15-21C (60-70F) until after germination. Transplant seedlings into pots when large enough to handle. Plant out after all risk of frost.

Summer sowings should be moved to a cold frame and planted out in early spring.
