Flowering Months
In autumn, allow the foliage to die back naturally before lifting Ornithogalum bulbs and cleaning them of soil and any remaining stems. Dry them in a well ventilated position for 2 weeks before storing them in a frost-free location for the winter. For pot-grown Ornithogalum, bring containers under cover in the autumn and keep frost-free over winter, allowing the compost to dry out. Resume watering in the spring.

Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten.

Outdoors, plant Ornithogalum bulbs in any moist, well drained soil in full sun. Plant bulbs at a depth of 10cm (4") and 10cm (4") apart. If grown outdoors, Ornithogalum arabicum will need lifting and over-wintering in a frost-free position. Alternatively grow Star of Bethlehem in containers of loam-based compost such as John Innes No.2, placing them on a sunny patio or in a cool greenhouse.
