Description
How to Grow
Add some drama to your pond with this exotic-looking variety. Rounded green leaves, mottled with maroon when young, float at the water’s surface. From June to September Nymphaea 'Barbara Dobbins' sends up large peachy-yellow, fragrant flowers that rise out of the water, well above the foliage. This hardy deep water perennial is particularly showy and free flowering, over a long season. Height: 90cm (36"). Spread: 100cm (39"). Planting depth: Zone 4 to 90cm (36") below water level.

Grow waterlilies in still water away from splashing fountains. Gently lower containers into the water and position them on temporary supports such as bricks so that they sit just 20cm (8") below the surface of the water. As the leaves grow to rest on the water surface, the container can be gradually lowered to its final depth below the water.
More Info Remove yellowing leaves and faded flowers regularly. When the leaves of mature plants begin to emerge above the water surface, lift them from the water and divide overcrowded crowns. Repot young portions of the crown and discard the older portions.
