Japanese Maples are prized for their colourful foliage. Many varieties boast finely dissected leaves and a light airy canopy that makes these compact trees particularly eye-catching. Acers are ideal for growing in sheltered, lightly shaded spots in the garden and make excellent container plants. Perfect for adding an authentic oriental feel to Japanese gardens, or growing as an elegant specimen tree.
To allow us to offer you such a good price, we can't take orders for specific varieties, but whatever we decide to send, you won't be disappointed. Image is for illustration purposes only. On reciept of your plants the varieties will be named.
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Pot up acer plants and grow them on in cool frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside in their final positions. When plants are well grown, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions before transplanting them in borders outdoors. Grow acer trees in any moist, fertile, well drained soil in sun or dappled shade, with shelter from strong winds which can scorch the finely cut leaves. Alternatively grow acers in large containers using a soil based compost such as John Innes No.3.
More Info Water regularly throughout the growing season until acer trees are well established. Protect plants from strong winds. Acers require little pruning other than to maintain their shape. Lightly trim stems if necessary from late autumn to midwinter.
