Description
This eye-catching new variety brings a fresh take on a traditional garden favourite. Grape Hyacinth is a familiar sight in spring gardens, with its conical blue flower spikes. Muscari armeniacum 'Mountain Lady' is paler blue, opening from white buds which give it a lovely bicolour effect. The delicate fragrance is an added bonus, especially when you pick a few for a vase indoors! The strappy green foliage forms superb ground cover at the front of borders or dotted through rockeries. This pretty Muscari should be planted in large groups for best display. Height and spread: 20cm (8").

How to Grow
For the best effect, plant muscari bulbs in large groups. Grape hyacinth plants prefer a sunny or semi-shaded position in moist, well drained, fertile soil that is rich in organic matter. Add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting to improve less than ideal soils. Plant bulbs at a depth of 10cm (4") and a distance of 5cm (2") apart.
More Info
Allow the foliage of Muscari plants to die back naturally as this will help to feed the bulbs for the following year. Overcrowded clumps can be lifted and divided in summer while the bulbs are dormant.
