Miscanthus sinensis 'Ruby Cute' is an arching, deciduous grass is at its best in autumn when the slender green leaves turn to bright ruby red. The leaves begin the year green, with white veins that gradually become pinker as autumn approaches. In late summer a feathery display of silvery flower heads rise well above the foliage, bringing texture and movement to garden borders. This beautiful deciduous grass is equally attractive in containers where it foliage will spill gracefully over the edges. Height and spread: 40cm (16").

How to Grow

Grow Miscanthus grass in fertile, moist, well drained soil in full sun. Miscanthus Grass may resent soils that sit wet in winter. Prior to planting, improve drainage on particularly heavy soils by incorporating plenty of well rotted compost and grit.

Feed and water Miscanthus plants regularly until fully established. Cut back dead foliage and stems to ground level in early spring before new growth appears. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of Miscanthus grass every third year to maintain their vigour.
