Description
How to Grow
The Cardinal Monkey Flower is totally different to other Mimulus. Its woody stems bear peculiar bright scarlet red flowers that appear like pinched snapdragons. Once established, Mimulus cardinalis forms spreading clumps of downy, green foliage. This striking hardy perennial thrives in moist boggy soils and the shallow margins of ponds and streams. Height and spread: 50cm (20"). Planting depth: Zones 1 & 2 to 10cm (4") below water level.

Grow this moisture loving Mimulus in boggy soils or submerged in the shallow margins of ponds with the crown to a maximum depth of up to 10cm (4") below water level. Choose a position in sun or dappled shade.
More Info Once established Mimulus requires little aftercare. Cut back the old stems in autumn to maintain a tidy appearance.
