Lobelia x speciosa 'Vedrariensis' is a majestic perennial bearing tall spikes of royal purple flowers throughout summer. Although best grown in damp borders and boggy soils, it will also happily thrive in the shallowest margins of ponds. This showy, upright Lobelia is perfect for adding drama and height to summer planting schemes. Height: 120cm (47"). Spread: 30cm (12"). Planting depth: Zones 1 & 2 to 3cm (1") below water level.

Grow Lobelia x speciosa in a sheltered position in sun or semi-shade on reliably moist, fertile soil. Lobelia copes well with boggy soils and can be planted at the edge of ponds and streams with the crown to a maximum depth of up to 3cm (1") below water level.
More Info Cut back old lobelia foliage in autumn. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps in spring to maintain their vigour. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes.
