Description
Tall spikes of bright white flowers rise above the light green foliage of this hardy perennial throughout summer. Moisture loving Lobelia siphilitica f. albiflora 'Alba' is a handsome, statuesque plant that grows happily in sun or semi shade. This tall perennial makes a lovely addition to moist borders and bog gardens, or planted in the shallowest margins of ponds. Height: 120cm (47"). Spread: 30cm (12"). Planting depth: Zones 1 & 2 to 5cm (2") below water level.

How to Grow
Grow Lobelia siphilitica in a sheltered position in sun or semi-shade on reliably moist, fertile soil. Lobelia copes well with boggy soils and can be planted at the edge of ponds and streams with the crown to a maximum depth of up to 5cm (2") below water level.

Cut back old lobelia foliage in autumn. Lobelia cardinalis is a short lived perennial - divide it every 2 years in spring to maintain its vigour. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes.
