For late summer drama you can’t beat Knifophia. These firework plants light up summer and autumn borders with their tall torches of fiery colours. Knifophia uvaria Mixed Hybrids offer a varied palette of bi-coloured flowers in shades of yellow, orange and red, held on strong, upright stems above semi-evergreen, strap-like foliage. Blooming for up to a month, these spectacular perennials associate beautifully with ornamental grasses and their nectar-rich blooms will attract a wealth of pollinators. They make impressive cut flowers with a long vase life. Height: 120cm (48"). Spread: 60cm (24").

How to Grow

Plant red hot poker plants in a sunny or semi-shaded position, in any rich, fertile, well drained soil.

Water regularly until fully established. Cut back faded red hot poker flower heads in autumn. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of torch lilies in spring every to maintain their vigour.
