Description

The twining stems of the common Jasmine are absolutely perfect for quickly covering an unsightly wall or outbuilding with its dense green foliage. This well -known climber is ideal for growing over a pergola or large obelisk. Jasmine officinale also boasts an abundance of dainty, white, star shaped flowers that give off the famed scent. A ‘must have’ climbing plant for sunny parts of the garden, especially where you can enjoy the fragrance on a daily basis. Height: 1200cm (472"). Spread 300cm (118").

Culinary note: Jasmine tea is a popular refreshing drink made by infusing the flowers, the petals can also be added to shellfish dishes. For more details about edible flowers click here.

How to Grow
Grow Jasmine plants in any moist, well drained soil in a sunny or semi-shaded position with shelter from strong winds. Grow Jasmine against an appropriate support such as trellis or wires attached to walls and fences. Tie the shoots into their support as they grow.
More Info
Feed and water jasmine plants regularly throughout the growing season. After flowering, prune out the oldest stems, and reduce the remaining stems to restrict their vigorous growth to the available space.
