The sturdy, upright stems won’t flop under the weight of the large blooms, which cover the plant from July to September. This hardy, deciduous shrub is cloaked in green foliage with a subtle bronze tint, turning to rich autumnal shades in October, just as the flowers begin to fade. Elegant and refined, this exquisite Hydrangea is perfect for lightly shaded, mixed borders or a large container on the patio. Height: 120cm (48"). Spread: 100cm (39").

Hydrangea arborescens prefers a sunny or semi shaded position, with shelter from cold, drying winds. Grow hydrangea plants in any non alkaline, fertile, moist soil. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding with plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply.
More Info Water regularly until plants are fully established. Leave the faded hydrangea flower heads in place until the new buds swell in spring to protect the delicate buds from frost damage. Prune in spring, reducing the stems to restrict their growth to the available space and to improve the shape of the plant. After pruning hydrangeas, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant. Caution: Contact with hydrangea foliage may irritate the skin and eyes and all parts are harmful if eaten.
