Description
Thompson & Morgan is delighted to have been recognised in the prestigious Best New Plant 2017 category at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for a newly developed and very different type of hibiscus, HibisQs® 'Petit™ Orange'.

This stunning hibiscus is perfect for those wanting a more minimalist, but still exotic feature plant that is suitable for display in the home or conservatory, or on the patio during the summer months.

From new breeding and selected from tens of thousands of seedlings, HibisQs® 'Petit™ Orange' differs from other traditional hibiscus with its smaller, vibrant orange, bicoloured flowers, its naturally compact habit and its small, dark green and shiny leaves. Flowers are plentiful and long-lasting, blooming from May until autumn, while the shiny, dark green foliage provides the perfect backdrop and is an added decorative bonus.

Hibiscus rosa-sinensis HibisQs® 'Petit™ Orange' had its first public outing at IPM Essen (the world's leading horticultural fair) in Germany in January 2017 where it won the 'IPM Innovation Award 2017' in the Flowering Pot Plant category.

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
HibisQs® 'Petit™ Orange' should be potted on into a larger pot or container after delivery. Use any good quality potting compost, such as incredicompost® and position in a sunny position in the home, conservatory or on the patio during the warmer summer months. Feed regularly using a potted plant fertiliser and keep well watered, but be careful not to over water. Planting HibisQs® 'Petit™ Orange' into the garden is not recommended.
More Info
Be sure to remove faded flowers from your hibiscus plant to encourage further blooms. HibisQs® 'Petit™ Orange' should be brought indoors once the weather becomes colder in autumn/winter or if cold winds are forecast.
