How to Grow
Plant bareroot hibiscus plants at the earliest opportunity following delivery in rich fertile, reliably moist, well drained soil, and situated in full sun. When growing hibiscus plants in patio containers use a soil based compost, such as John Innes No.3.
More Info
Feed and water hibiscus regularly until fully established . Apply a dry mulch such as bark chips to the base if the plant in autumn to protect from winter cold. Prune hibiscus in late spring, removing any stems that have died back or been damaged over winter. Hibiscus are often one of the last shrubs in the garden to break bud, so be patient with plants that are slow to start into growth in spring – they may remain dormant until May!
