Description
Hesperis matronalis var. albiflora is a beautiful white form of Sweet Rocket. The pure white, scented flowers are irresistible to pollinating insects, making this an excellent choice for wildlife areas. Although Hesperis is a biennial or relatively short-lived perennial, it will happily seed about to create swathes of bloom that will perfume the air on warm summer evenings. Better still, this pretty white form will often come true from seed so you needn’t compromise on your chosen colour scheme. Height: 90cm (36"). Spread: 45cm (18").

Culinary note: Some parts of these flowers are edible. For more details about edible flowers click here.

1 x 1 litre potted hesperis plant (KA5538)

How to Grow
Pot up Hesperis plants and grow them on in bright, frost-free conditions until large enough to be transplanted outdoors. When all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Hesperis enjoys a fertile, moist, well drained soil. It is happy in most soils, including chalky, alkaline conditions but dislikes acid soils. Choose a position in sun or partial shade.
More Info
After flowering, leave the faded Hesperis flowers in place set seed, and it will quickly form large swathes throughout borders.
